NEW SCIENTIFIC SOCIETY:
A new regional professional society dedicated to the
advancement of thrombosis and hemostasis research, education and clinical care
has been established: the North American Society on Thrombosis
& Hemostasis (NASTH). Membership is free of charge. Formed in late 2012,
NASTH's goal is to support both early career and experienced clinicians and
scientists in the field primarily by organizing a regular scientific meeting.
As the society develops and membership grows, it hopes to offer educational
opportunities, including workshops, small meetings and webinars, and provide a
mentoring program for junior members. For more information, go to:
NASTH's first scientific meeting is being organized in
collaboration with the Thrombosis and Hemostasis Summit of North America
(THSNA) in Chicago on April 10–12, 2014. Information on the Summit can be found
